Arcade tribe players, please put your fresh ideas for the new remake here, we may or may not accept it but will consider it seriously.

a few proved new features is listed here:
1. Support all OS (Windows, Mac and linux)
2. Server side calculation, it'll greatly reduce the bugs.
3. Auto re-connection on background so there will be no disconnection.
4. New 3d engine with bump/environment mapping, dynamics lights and shadows, supports out door scene.
5. More personalized including skinns, bigger avatars, cues(other players can see your customized cues too).
6. Use tcp/ip protocol instead of udp, you can play it even at office ;)

My First Suggestion:

Concerning game updates, both MAJOR and MINOR...We need a better system of notification. I learned about version 1.38 "F" from friends...not from the game site... why not send an email to all users? And put a window after the log-in screen, to alert all members? (Also related to this...at the lower left of the lobby screen is the tab "GAMES" and the tab "NEWS" I just clicked on NEWS, and it still says NEW VERSION is 1.38 E, from over 6 months ago. And if I click on a snooker room, and choose "update now", it installs version E as well, not F.) Hopefully, in the new version, whenever you add a feature, or even fix a tiny bug, we can ALL get consistent and timely notification.

THANK YOU GUAN for this post, and for asking us for our opinions.

Vanwinkle ;)

PS, George....what ever happened to that list you compiled a few months ago?....hope you didn't forget to pass it along to Guan

My Second Suggestion

PRACTICE !

I would love to see a practice room, or a practice mode in existing rooms, which would allow me to play alone, with no computer opponent, just me aiming and shooting at the balls. You know, just to "warm up" before entering the game rooms. There would be no scoring, no fouls, just shoot, shoot again, etc.

I would be able to hit a key to have a "do-over" as many times as I like...so that I could take the same shot over and over, perhaps at different speeds, or with different spin, in order to improve my game.

Vanwinkle ;)

My Third Suggestion

Guan, THANK YOU for adding "cushion english" to the game. It makes the game more realistic. However, I think it is WAAAAAY to sensitive....the slightest bit of spin on the cueball results in a VERY exagerated result off the cushion. Could this be "turned down" a bit?

(Does anyone else feel the same about this? Just curious.....)

Vanwinkle ;)

just to bring it back again...here is the link to our wish list...some of the things on there might have been done, but it is the feedback from the members and what they want/need.

thank you Van for reminding me of it, i was just thinking about it yesterday :D

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4509

lets add to it and see what we get in the new version! and by the way Guan...that last point you had...about playing the game even from the office  you are going to get so many players in trouble

More room options would be nice, rather than just have the 3 hut/pub/castle.
Though that would mean more work on the textures changes when we change our rooms I think more options would be a good thing.

Agree about the 'practice area' also, for testing different aspects of the result of spin etc and to be able to place balls where you like. Would be good for beginners.

I would change the main room name to something else also, I don't think 'practice' is a good name for what is at the moment the most popular area of play.

call it the feeding area

how about changing the $ tables in a way where you can preset how much rate and or coins you are willing to risk when you play? could prove to be intresting when you do that...i know that i will get hit for saying this :D

Fantastic Guan im really excited about this new version, i completely agree with van his idea is excellent not just for beginners but for old timers aswell its very useful it would be great if we could have an feature there that we could place any balls in any place e.g press f6 or something then a few words are displayed sayin please click the ball visually you wish to move once clicked the ball is now moveable. My Suggestion:Guan would it be possible when someone fouls and when a player has ball in hand that the visual aspect is changed e.g like when we have ball in hand we just see the top of the table, would it be possible to move the cueball around like when we are playing and to see every angle possible of the table like in real life, I remember a bug a while back that players could move the cueball without opponent fouling or ball in hand this used to occur wen a player took a shot but you couldnt see the cue then that ment if he or she misses u could move the cueball it was very difficult because inorder to move the cueball right u had to move the mouse left or to move the cueball up you had to move the mouse down  yes very bad bug but its just an example of having the ability to move the cueball but in a different visual mode this would be very helpful as having ball in hand means u can place the white anywhere u wish but players such as myself put it in the wrong place by mistake or have an bad angle etc thanks guan  ...GreGG...

things i would like to see
1) after you have potted a ball you have to wait fotr the table to spin round can you make it so you are instantly on your next shot? would speed up games
2) i know this is a virtual game but can you reduce the inoffs so there are less ball in hand given away most of the inoffs would just not happen in real pool especialy on the break
3) bring back the escape key to quit fullscreen
4) let us see who is calling you on friends list on fullscreen
5)when your opponant is taking their shot can we move round the table so we can see every view of the game even behind them when they take their shot (i know this can be programmed)
6) can we be notified when someone sends you a private message because in fullscreen you cannot see if you get one till you exit fullscreen and that could be a long time
7) could you make it so when you play on no rate tables you you dont have win or lose games recorded on your stats
8) create a new ET where the computer picks your partner in team ET
good idea Guan to ask the members well done KERI

My suggestion. In an effort to combat pocket blocking in both 3d and 2d.

At the end of a game when there is only 1 of your balls remaining but it's blocked by your opponents ball which is covering the only pocket you can make. You can nominate to pot your opponents ball with your own ball without fouling BUT you must first nominate which of his balls you want to pot and which pocket you want to put it in and you MUST pot the nominated ball in the nominated pocket AND you must successfully pot your own ball in the next shot or you receive a foul.
