. . . unless you ask first if it's okay with the shooter that you quit.

Get the idea you're on that run on a real table in a real snooker club, you're bent over lining up your next shot, and your opponent suddenly walks over and pushes all the remaining balls off the table. What do you do? Spear him through the eye with your cue? That's what I'd feel like doing, or worse. For sure, that person would not be welcome in the snooker club again.

I was watching a game of snooker here tonite, and saw a guy on a great run, at 104 -- that is a HUGE run in snooker -- he only had the colors left to play, was in perfect position on yellow, no reason not to run out the colors, and score a phenomenol 131 !!

Suddenly, with no warning, the other player just QUIT!

I mean, how rude is that? Said after it was because his own score was too low to win. Or whatever. Forget it, this guy needs a cue up his ****.

I personally dislike getting quit on while I'm shooting no matter how crappy I'm playing. But getting quit on when I'm on a chance for a big run and my opponent just quit, I would never play that person again.

Folks, it is pretty much the rudest, and most insensitive thing you can do on a table here at Arcade in snooker or pool. I consider it much worse than snookering or pocket blocking in pool, for example. Short of the personal, racial, religious and filthy comments I've seen around here sometimes, it ranks way up there as the rudest with me.

I would guess that all of us here except the most twisted few are more interested in how well we can shoot than we are interested in anything else. So just quitting out of a game when your opponent is in the middle of shooting is pretty bad manners because that player doesn't get to see how well he or she could have done on that turn.

End of my sermon.
